HalloWeekend

    Halloween weekend is one of my favorite weekends of the year. I feel like when I was young, I loved Halloween, but as I got into middle school and high school I did not care for it at all. However, now that I am in college I have really enjoyed it again. I love the weather and I also enjoy dressing up in a Halloween costume. There are always fun parties to go to, especially now that I am in college. I have not decided yet, but I am either going to IU or Purdue for the weekend. I have a lot of friends at both places, and I am having a hard time deciding which one I should go to. I think it is just going to come down to where most of my friends from home go. I still have not decided what I am going to dress up as this year. I have a doctor's costume from last year that I might wear, but I also might just put on a suit and carry a toy gun and be James Bond. Either way, I hope to just have another fun weekend. I also want to see the new Halloween Kills movie because I heard that it is really good. I have watched all of them so it is only right that I keep it going. Looking forward to another fun Halloweekend!

Upcoming Weekend

 

    This weekend, I have quite a few things going on. On Saturday, I plan on going to Purdue to tailgate the football game. I also might go to the game, but I have not bought tickets yet. Purdue just beat the number 2 ranked team in the country last week and this week they play a good Wisconsin team. Some friends from my hometown are having a little tailgate party before the game and I think it should be a good time. I also went to Purdue last year, but haven't seen a lot of my friends from down there since I transferred to PNW. I am hoping that on Saturday I will get to see a couple of them. I know that a couple of them are in fraternities and sororities down there, and it would be cool if they were having a party I could get into. Sometimes, I feel like PNW is missing that big college atmosphere, and I hope to experience that this Saturday.

    When I get home from Purdue on Sunday, I am most likely going to watch NFL football all day at my buddy's house. I love watching football on Sundays because it consists of relaxing and eating good food. There is usually about 10 of us who get together to watch the games. We all usually chip in and order food from some nearby restaurants. Sunday night, I will be playing in my softball league. We have two games vs the number one seed in the league. We are the number two seed, so if we can beat them twice, we might be able to take the number one seed heading into the playoffs. A lot to look forward to this weekend. 

White Sox Playoff Game

 

    This past Tuesday, I took advantage of being off of school. A group of friends and I went to the White Sox playoff game vs. the Houston Astros. It was probably the craziest baseball game I have ever been to in my entire life. We started off tailgating in the parking lot, listening to music and tossing around the football. The lot was absolutely packed and the atmosphere was crazy. We made our way into the stadium about an hour before the first pitch. They handed out black towels to all the fans so we could wave them in the crowd. The stadium looked to be sold out and it was the loudest I've ever heard Guaranteed Rate Field. When the Sox took a 1-0 lead on a home run, it was absolutely crazy. Unfortunately after that home run, it was all Astros. The Sox ended up losing 10-1 and their season was over. I still had a great time at the game and was glad I went. I've always wanted to go to a playoff game and was finally able to. I just wish the results were a little different.

Experiential Learning Project

    I am excited to start this experiential learning project with my group. I have never really done a research project like this and I am really looking forward to it. I think it will be cool to interview members of an organization and find out what the goals of their organization are. I also think this project is really cool because we actually might make a difference for the organization that we choose. We can help get their name out there.

    I also really enjoy working in groups on projects. I think that we learn better and can achieve more when we are working in groups. I also think it is a good way to meet and create relationships with the people in your class. Ever since Covid started, I feel like schools moved away from group projects because they didn't want people interacting with each other or spreading the virus. I haven't really talked to that many people here on campus other than the friends I already had. I think this project could potentially introduce me to future friends.
