Experiential Learning Project Reflection

The experiential learning project was one of my first group projects in college. I have mixed emotions about group projects because I like to be in control of all of my work. I like to get things done and out of the way early, but not everybody in the world is like that. This group project went rather smoothly. Everybody communicated well and did what they were supposed to do. I believe that we completed all of the tasks before the deadlines, so that is another positive. We still have to present on Monday because not everyone in our group was in class today. That is probably one of the only problems our group has ran into, but we will be ready to go on Monday!

This project allowed me to improve some of my professional skills. I was able to improve on interpersonal skills by working with a group. It also taught me how to trust others and delegate group tasks. The project also helped me with my writing skills. I had never written a memo before and it is a lot different than an essay or article. The memo is short and to the point. I had to learn how to summarize and make quick short statements to get my point across. Memos are used in many businesses, so it was very helpful to do one myself. Overall, I thought the project was very beneficial.
